Today we learned about where water goes, and where it comes from. Water is very important to civilization and the wildlife in ecosystems. Our water comes from a treatment plant, or where I live, a well. You then use it for whatever and then it goes through pipes and through a lot more steps it is treated and then comes back to you. If you use it in the toilet it goes to sanitary systems. The solid is then filtered out, then put into a holding tank where microbes eat the bacteria. and then the water is back through the cycle.
I feel like this will help me live deliberately because today we learned about conserving the rivers and lakes, and that shows we need to help. As students we were asked to notify the people we spoke with if we saw at some weird substance entering the storm drain or exiting into the river to notify them.
This morning we made a poem as a group and here it is...
This is the river, long and flowing.
These are the fish, colorful and scaly.
This is the sand, wet and grainy.
This is the creek, tumbling and calming.
These are the roads, guiding and long.
These are the hills, green and rolling.
These are the rocks, hard and rough.
This is the mountain, bold and un-moving.
This is the rain, refreshing and tranquil
